Salento, attack on Lgbtq bartender: three suspects, one is a policeman. Apology of fascism among the charges

LECCE – Formalized the accusations against the three men who, in the night between 24 and 25 August last, first verbally assaulted and then beaten Antonio Paladini, 42 years old from Leverano, owner of the gay friendly bar ‘Barattolo Sud’, in the municipality in the province of Lecce. The three respond in combination of beatings aggravated by futile reasons and discriminatory purposes.

The suspects are A D., a 58-year-old entrepreneur from Leverano, PC 49, a native of Santa Maria Capua Vetere and serving as a prison policeman in Parma, SS 69 from Carmiano (Lecce) who also responds to apology for fascism. The latter in fact, at the invitation of the operator to leave the place, shouted “We are fascists”.

The lightning investigation was conducted by the men of the Digos of the Lecce police headquarters and by the colleagues of the mobile team: the victim had reported the serious attack yesterday morning via social media and then in person. The community of Leverano immediately condemned the gesture by actively collaborating in the investigations coordinated by the public prosecutor of Lecce. Barattolo a sud, a branch of a club in Bologna, is a place that calls itself ‘safe, queer and antifa’.
