Accident Saturday on the provincial road between Montanaro and Foglizzo
SAN BENIGNO CANAVESE. A married couple residing in Ivrea was seriously injured in an accident that occurred around 11 on Saturday along the provincial road 40, between Montanaro and Foglizzo, in the Municipality of San Benigno Canavese.
After the first treatments on the spot they were taken with the helicopter rescue to the CTO of Turin. Both are on a confidential prognosis.
Giancarlo Galante, 46, and his wife Manuela Barbero, 45, were riding a Ktm adventure motocross bike when they collided with a tractor. At the helm of the agricultural vehicle was AC, 76 years old from Foglizzo, who remained unharmed.
According to an initial reconstruction, entrusted to the Carabinieri of Volpiano, the tractor came from a country road when it entered the provincial road in the direction of Foglizzo. At that moment the motocross bike arrived. The impact on the left side of the agricultural vehicle was so violent that the vehicle rotated. The bike ended up on the ground and its passengers thrown onto the asphalt of the narrow two-way roadway. It was the farmer, in shock to alert the rescue. The helicopter rescue arrived on the scene of the accident and landed in one of the agricultural fields adjacent to the provincial road.
