20-page publication distributed to middle school pupils in Pasian di Prato. The training project will continue in synergy with Martignacco

PASIAN DI PRATO. Telling middle school kids about the world of the internet and social networks outlining their potential, but also and above all the risks. To do this, the Municipalities of Pasian di Prato and Martignacco have formed an alliance with the Postal Police of the Fvg distributing to the students a booklet of about twenty pages to make students understand how to best use digital tools avoiding their traps.

The children of Pasiano’s middle schools (12 classes for 223 students in total, 72 in the first, 76 in the second and 75 in the third) received from the hands of the mayor Andrea Pozzo and his deputy Ivan Del Forno the publication, which sees Sara as protagonists and Kevin. These two characters accompany their peers to discover the various types of social networks, apps, chats, but also to warn them of the most frequent dangers, including internet addiction.

The themes are dealt with in a simple and immediate way, trying to convince children not to dwell too much on the use of digital devices to enjoy the outdoors, playing sports or cultivating friendships. And especially the very young are encouraged to use their heads before posting something and to share uncomfortable situations or strange requests from strangers met on the net with their parents.

“The pandemic has inevitably made everyone more dependent on internet and social media connections – says Del Forno -. This initiative, promoted together with the Municipality of Martignacco and supported by the Region, has set itself the objective of making children develop a critical and aware awareness of the use of the digital tools at their disposal ».

“We are satisfied with what has been done – concludes the deputy mayor – and certainly, together with my colleague from Martignacco, Antonella Orzan, we will continue on this path by modulating training projects according to emerging needs”.

Among the topics covered in the publication edited by the Postal Police there are also cyberbullying, body shaming, sexting, online pornography, challenges, all accompanied by a practical glossary with the most frequent terms encountered on the web.

For the Postal Police, the manager Manuela De Giorgi took care of the project.
