Sardinia reaches 90 percent of vaccinated over 12s

To give a further acceleration to the administrations without reservation scheduled in Alghero (Open Night Tuesday 28th) and Cagliari (Open day on October 2nd)

CAGLIARI. Sardinia reaches 90% of the vaccination coverage target, i.e. almost all of the people over 12 for whom the various anti Covid serums have currently been authorized in Italy. In absolute terms, those who received the two doses are 1,150,129 (1,105,146 with double dose and 44,983 single dose) out of about 1.2 million over 12 years of age.

Compared to the resident population, just under 1.6 million, on the other hand, coverage is 72%. With an average of about 8 thousand administrations per day, the island could reach 80% herd immunity (with two doses) in about 20 days.

And to give a further acceleration to the campaign, Open administrations continue to follow one another. An Open Night is scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday 28 September at the Alghero hub from 6 to 24 and another at the Arnas G. Brotzu vaccination hub for Saturday 2 October, from 9 to 12.

The Alghero initiative is aimed at all students, young people and citizens who have not yet received the first dose of the anti Covid-19 vaccine. Reservations are not required to receive the administration, simply go to the Mariotti center with an identity document and health card. Children between the ages of 12 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent. The event is organized by ATS Sardegna, in collaboration with the municipal administration of Alghero, the voluntary associations and the Civil Protection. The vaccination activity will be accompanied by the music of the DJ set. A refreshment point will be set up for the occasion.

At Brotzu, Saturday 2 October, it will be possible to make the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine without reservation. And it is precisely at Brotzu, who has so far administered 66,642 doses of Pfizer serum and 5,126 of Astrazeneca, today on Monday 27 the inoculation of the third doses to the frail: kidney transplanted and dialysis patients and neurological patients suffering from multiple sclerosis. Also today at the start with the third dose also in the vaccination centers of Olbia and La Maddalena.
