SASSARI. Five month old girl dying. Mom found her lying on her bed, motionless and with a plastic bag on her head that prevented her from breathing. The little girl – only five months old – was in a state of unconsciousness and all attempts by the woman to revive her were in vain. After the desperate request for help from her parents at the site of the tragedy, in the immediate outskirts of the city, an ambulance from 118 rushed and the little girl was rushed to the pediatric emergency room of Aou, in viale San Pietro. .
After the first treatments, the child was transferred to the intensive care unit of the “Santissima Annunziata”, where she remained less than twenty-four hours. Given the seriousness of the clinical picture, the next morning she was urgently transported to Genoa aboard a special flight of the Air Force – organized by the Prefecture of Sassari – and entrusted to the care of the doctors of the “Gaslini” pediatric hospital. Meanwhile, the prosecutor has opened an investigation against the parents, who also have 3 other young children.
