ROMA – Decree-law number 4 of January 27, 2022 was published in the Official Journal, with urgent measures connected to the Covid emergency. Some of these also concern the school.
A first simplification is launched for the continuation of face-to-face teaching in schools, from elementary to high school: the student in self-monitoring, vaccinated and with Super Green Pass (may be cured or have had the second dose for less than 120 days), will be able to re-enter the class from Dad-Ddi with the verification of the green certification only by means of the appropriately updated mobile application. There will be no need for a negative swab or a medical certificate. On Monday, the education minister announced Patrizio Bianchi, the Council of Ministers could implement new simplifications. On that occasion, the ordinary quarantine for schools will be reduced from 10 to 5 days.
The president of the school managers union, Attilio Fratta, he anticipated: “From what we have learned, from next week, even in elementary school we will go home from three infections as happens in high school and this is an important breath of fresh air for both school staff and parents that more and more often had to ask for special permits from work. Therefore, the distribution of Ffp2 masks is foreseen free of charge to staff and pupils in self-monitoring. To finance this measure, € 45.22 million has been budgeted. The supply will take place directly by the schools: the school institution concerned will verify the need for masks, the pharmacies and other affiliated retailers will supply them.

Finally, the decree also provides that the pupils of the school primary care can have free access to rapid antigen tests, as well as in the local health authorities, even in pharmacies or in affiliated structures. This measure was financed with an additional 19.2 million euros. Meanwhile, “due to the prolongation of the epidemiological emergency”, the deadline for school enrollment has been extended until 4 February.
