With the new Dpcm there will be a return to attendance up to sixth grade in the red areas, while in the orange areas all students up to eighth grade and 50% of high school students will be in the classroom.
The Prime Minister presented the measures at a press conference Mario Draghi he sent an explicit message to the Regions: “The choices of the governors will have to be reconsidered in the light of the government’s affirmation that school is the primary objective of government policy”. According to Tuttoscuola’s calculations, 5.3 million students will be attending the lessons immediately after the Easter holidays. Meanwhile, the situations between Regions are very different, with Regions n red reopening the classrooms and others in orange that keep schools closed.

Trentino: red but already from Monday pupils in class
Trentino – which has seen its classification in the red zone confirmed – has adapted to the priorities expressed by the government even before the confirmation received in the press conference on Friday March 26. The provincial government of Trento has in fact decided to reopen as early as Monday March 29 infant-toddler centers, preschools and elementary schools. Three days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) before closing for the Easter holidays.
The Councilor for Education Mirko Bisesti he explained the decision as follows: «We have chosen to leave for this week only until elementary school, also following the indication given by Prime Minister Draghi in his speech in Parliament. After Easter we hope to be able to think about middle schools too and, 50%, about the restart of high schools. We wanted to give a positive signal ».
Abruzzo and Basilicata: orange but schools closed
According to the rules in force for the orange areas, the activity in nursery schools, kindergartens, elementary and middle schools continues to be carried out integrally in the presence. However, the governors have the power to take more stringent measures. There are in fact three Regions in orange in which face-to-face teaching remains suspended. They are Abruzzo, Molise and Basilicata.
