The socialization of the management report was carried out by the Secretariat of Economic Development and Competitiveness, where important advances in the area of social inclusion, support services and financial strengthening were shared.
In compliance with a new ordinary session of the Pereira Council, the Secretary of Economic Development and Competitiveness, Mario León Ossa, released the report on activities of that unit in the first half of the year. Among what was shared, figures stand out such as the characterization of 565 people in entrepreneurship issues in the 7 Business Development Centers (CEDES) that the city has.
Likewise, he shared that 850 million pesos have been allocated in seed capital; 9 trade fairs and 2 permanent showcases were also held, benefiting 338 entrepreneurs in the city. On the other hand, the Secretary of Economic Development and Competitiveness emphasized that in the “Hecho en Pereira” project, 6 business roundtables and 18 chains have been held.
There were also 14 job marathons in which 1,627 people were attended. Finally, the president of the Corporation, Camilo Montoya, said that the signage in the urban area of the city has improved substantially; however, in the rural sector there is no adequate signage that allows citizens to know how the tourist corridors of Pereira are connected.
