Condolences also to Caprino Veronese, the town where the 20-year-old girl moved with her family
SENNORI. The entire community of Sennori is in mourning for the disappearance of Francesca Mannu, a 20-year-old native of the town of Romangia, who died after being mowed down by two cars in a town in the province of Verona, she had been living with her parents for years. the incident took place around 5.30 pm on November 15th. The young woman was returning to the home of Caprino Veronese, where she lived with her family. She arrived in the neighborhood in her car and parked and then walked towards the building. Francesca Mannu overlooked a pedestrian crossing on the provincial road 29 and, after having had the right of way from a car traveling towards the center, she entered the crossings.
Suddenly, while she was walking, she was hit by a BMW X5, driven by a 50-year-old from Caprino Veronese, who came from the opposite direction. The impact was tremendous: the young woman was thrown into the air and ended up in the other lane, where unfortunately she was hit by another car, a Renault Koleos, arriving in the opposite direction. The driver, a 45-year-old man from Costermano sul Garda (Verona), tried everything, but was unable to dodge it. The alarm went off immediately. Some teams of the 118 Veronese intervened on the spot. The girl was then transported by helicopter to the Borgo Trento hospital by the SUEM rescuers. The condition of the young woman had appeared desperate right from the start due to the very serious traumas reported during the accident. Francesca Mannu was then admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital. Doctors have tried very hard to keep her alive. For a few days, a faint hope of saving her, which unfortunately was definitively extinguished on Thursday evening with the ascertainment of her death.
The news of the tragic accident shocked the town of the Verona province after the young woman had lived with her family for several years. Everyone, starting with friends, the day after the accident went in tears to the provincial road to leave flowers and pray together. The echo of the tragedy has spread as far as Sennori, throwing the country into despair and pain. The young woman, in fact, often returned to Sennori, especially for the summer holidays, to hug her old friends and spend time with the rest of the family members who live in Romangia. In recent days, many of them flew to Veneto to go to the hospital bed where the girl was hospitalized.
