Shooter shot them down from a car in front of a McDonald’s

Two Venezuelan men were shot, one fatally, while sitting in a car outside a Bronx McDonald’s on Monday morning. The incident occurred at around 4 a.m. in the Mott Haven neighborhood at the intersection of East 149th St. and Morris Ave.

According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, the gunman approached the victims, identified as Adrian Mendoza, 24, and Jhombeyker Bisbal, 31, in a Nissan Rogue and opened fire. Mendoza was struck in the head and body, while Bisbal was shot multiple times in the chest, body, and shoulder. Tragically, Mendoza succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while Bisbal remains in critical condition.

Surveillance footage captured the shooter arriving at the scene in a Honda Civic shortly after the victims parked in front of the McDonald’s. The video shows the shooter passing by the Rogue before returning to the vehicle to carry out the attack.

Chief Kenny described the sequence of events, stating, “The shooter approaches the driver’s side of the car from the street and begins shooting into the car and then walks in front of the car and begins shooting a second victim through the windshield.”

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made as of yet. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
