Shopping centers in Belluno, finally a shopping Saturday with the shops open

by admin

The business owners breathe a sigh of relief. “It could have been done before, now we need to re-educate our customers”

BELLUNO. Weekend with shops open in shopping centers. From Saturday, businesses that do not sell food and are located in large sales structures have been able to raise the shutters. For six months they had to be closed on public holidays and pre-holidays, with serious damage to turnover.

The impact on the province’s shopping centers has been positive. The shops are starting to have colored windows, ready for the summer season and for the long-awaited restart. The families are back on the move, with their children in tow, ready to run in the corridors of the shopping centers. Not just families, but also individuals and couples, all willing to shop.

The desire to return to normality as soon as possible is palpable and, precisely for this reason, traders are very attentive to the rules on sanitation and quota revenues.

COME

Yesterday at the Veneggia shopping center, for the first time in six months, the escalators started working again on Saturdays as well. The first to be satisfied is Sebastiano Costantino, director of the Center and owner of the Mondo Verde herbalist’s shop: «We stayed open every Saturday, but it was like being closed. Just to give an example: this Saturday morning I made seven receipts, the other Saturdays at the end of the morning maybe one or two. We had lower takings and tripled expenses. The structured reopening brings a profit to the exercises. It will take some time to get back up to speed because people are still confused, but it is time to reverse the trend ».

THE DEALERS

“We have a positive feeling right now,” adds Ivan Bianco from the White clothing store. “After seven months without working on holidays and the days before holidays, it was necessary, because that situation was beginning to be financially heavy. The opening meant having a good number of customers in our shop. During the Christmas period and during the sales period we were closed on Saturday and Sunday, so the damage was important and difficult to recover, however I want to be optimistic for the summer months ».

Tatiana Rotelli, owner of Yamamay, is also satisfied with the reopening on weekends: «I think we served the protest ten days ago in which, throughout Italy, we kept closed for a quarter of an hour. For us it is important to have Saturdays open: most of the people in those days are at home and dedicate their time to shopping and shopping ».

Niki Collet of Fotosprint is also happy to be able to return to work on Saturday, specifying: «The reopening could have been done earlier. Now people have to get used to the fact that we are open on Saturday, since there had been a change in habits ».

THE KANGURO IN SEDICO

Big smiles among the merchants at the Kanguro in Sedico. The owners of the shops in this facility had also been heard in the past few weeks, complaining about the unfair competition created by the government with the decision to keep the shops in the malls closed over the weekend.

“At the opening there were two customers waiting”, says Flavio Del Monego, owner of New Optical store. “They needed assistance, if I had been closed they would have gone to someone else. Finally after six months we are back to work too and back to normal. It was time”.
