Harbin University of Science and Technology Celebrates “World Book Day” with Reader Activities

April 23 marked the 29th “World Book Day”, and the Harbin University of Science and Technology Library pulled out all the stops to celebrate. Under the theme “Welcoming the Spring Festival and Basking in the Fragrance of Books”, the library launched a series of reader activities to engage teachers and students in a literary feast.

The campus exhibition of fine books displayed over 1,500 excellent books covering various fields such as science and technology, literature, management, and history. This provided attendees with the opportunity to immerse themselves in high-quality literature and experience the magic of reading firsthand.

One of the highlights of the event was the ancient book exhibition showcasing the collection of “Four Books on Prison Books” from the Harbin Institute of Technology Library. The exhibition featured invaluable works such as “University Chapters”, “The Analects of Confucius”, “Collected Annotations of Mencius”, and “The Doctrine of the Mean”, offering readers insight into Confucianism and traditional Chinese culture.

Additionally, the theme image creative design works exhibition served as a platform for designers to showcase their talents and creativity. By visually communicating the charm and value of reading, these works encouraged attendees to reflect on the importance of literature in modern society and how it can help improve personal qualities and abilities.

The event was a resounding success, with teachers and students alike reveling in the abundance of literary treasures and engaging in meaningful discussions about the significance of reading. As the activities came to a close, attendees left with a renewed appreciation for the power of books in shaping minds and enriching lives.
