SPRESIAN. Since the beginning of 2022 as many as 29 Treviso people lost their lives in road accidents. Also for this reason, the municipality of Spresiano has decided to re-propose the shock campaign of 2020, created in collaboration with the Odyssey of Spresiano, the Province of Treviso and the Silb (Italian union of dance clubs), entitled “Okkio alla vita – drive with caution ”. In that case, some damaged cars had been positioned outside the disco to raise awareness among drivers at the end of the evening on their return home.
We now aim to repeat, with some variations, that initiative: «We thought» explains Marco Della Pietra, Mayor of Spresiano «together with Giannino Venerandi del Silb (and owner of the Odissea disco in Spresiano) to take the project back in hand. The idea is that, during the evenings in the disco suddenly turn off the music, turn on the lights and broadcast some shock spotsstrong images of road accidents ».
«Next week» comments Venerandi «we will meet with the council to implement this project». Not just a campaign with teen-agers and young people who frequent the club. The municipal administration of Spresiano has decided to continue raising awareness in schools among the very young: «The local police» adds Della Pietra «will go to classes from September (as for decades now) to explain to children the consequences of bad choices. Evenings in town will be organized again to give updated data on road accidents and to talk to citizens about the causes that cause accidents ».
