Stalking: an arrest and a ban on approaching Calabria

Measures carried out by the police in Catanzaro

(ANSA) – CATANZARO, 29 NOV – The State Police carried out an arrest and a ban on approaching two men accused of stalking in the Lido di Catanzaro district.

The two measures were issued by the Gip of the Calabrian capital at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The arrest concerns a 37-year-old resident in the province of Naples, for whom house arrest was ordered, who is accused, in addition to stalking, of aggravated personal injury to the detriment of a woman with whom he had an affair. The man was denounced by the ex-partner, who reported the assaults by the man with kicks, punches and slaps, his insults and denigrations and his behavior aimed at preventing her from going out or playing sports, as she would have wanted.

The ban on approaching was ordered against a 33-year-old who is accused of the crimes of persecutory acts and violation of the obligations of family assistance to the detriment of his ex-wife, who had denounced the man referring to violence and abuse, humiliation, violence psychological and physical, stalking and threatening messages. A behavior, the investigators report, that affected every aspect of the victim’s life, with repercussions also on his health conditions.

The two measures issued by the judicial authority were carried out by the staff of the Commissariat of Catanzaro Lido.
