BELLUNO
Tests of normality in the heart of the capital. After two years of forced absence – in 2019 due to bad weather, in 2020 due to Covid – on Sunday the tradition returns with the San Martino Fair. An event in a reduced tone compared to the past, but which will attract the public of great occasions in the center: “It will be an event that will see a reduced number of stalls compared to the past, given the rules on spacing that require large spaces especially in the narrowest streets », Comments the commissioner Yuki d’Emilia,« but we can finally go back to organizing the patron’s fair after two years of hiatus ».
Not only stands
Stalls, but also antiques and gastronomic delights. In addition to the traditional stalls housed along via Loreto, piazza dei Martiri, piazza Santo Stefano and via Roma, there will also be the market of “Things of old houses in the traditional cornie of piazza delle Erbe, while in piazza Duomo (Cathedral side) space for products typical, with the counters (at least ten) of the Unione Montana Belluno-Ponte nelle Alpi. To date, 74 operators with permanent jobs have communicated their presence at the fair. Street Food is also back, which from Saturday afternoon will be located in Piazza Piloni.
The concert in the square
Sunday morning, there will also be space for the traditional concert of the Philharmonic of Belluno 1867, which will perform in the Concerto di San Martino in Piazza Duomo (Auditorium side) at 10.45, and then leave space until lunchtime at the Municipal Musical Corps of Sedico.
Green Pass
To access the fair it will be necessary to have a valid Green pass; random checks by the police will be provided. “The obligation of the Green pass is not a choice of the administration, but it is a provision provided for by the national rules on the containment of the spread of the virus”, points out d’Emilia, “which will allow us to return to enjoy the fair”.
No shuttles
Sunday is also set for the second “ecological Sunday”, provided for by the new anti-smog agreements, with the prohibition of motor vehicles in the historic center and old city area, with the exceptions already in force with the previous ordinance. The car parks adjacent to the center remain accessible (in order of distance from the squares: Lambioi, Palasport, Metropolis, Ex Moi, Piazzale Vittime di Via Fani, Col da Ren) from which it is possible to walk to the fair in a few minutes: given the situation in fact, the traditional shuttle service will not be carried out.
