The intensity of the explosions is monitored by the Ingv of Catania. «It remains medium-high – say the volcanologists – in the central-southern crater and it is not possible to exclude the occurrence of explosions of greater intensity than the ordinary and / or lava emissions. The intrinsic and peculiar characteristics of some phenomenologies, typical of a volcano in a frequent state of activity and often with a persistent state of imbalance such as Stromboli, can occur without warning or evolve unexpectedly and rapidly, thus implying a level of danger that is never zero ” .

“There were at least three emission points with explosions – they add – mainly of coarse material of medium and sometimes high intensity and the products have even exceeded 250 meters in height”.
