ORMELLE. Pain and bewilderment for the sudden death of Loris Furlan, 55, historical delegate of the territorial Fim Cisl to the Sole (former Plastal) of Oderzo and member of the National General Council of the Federation of metalworkers of the CISL. Furlan fell ill on Friday night at his home in Ormelle, where he lived alone. A friend with whom he had an appointment and to whom he did not show up was alarmed by the repeated unanswered phone calls.

Industrial expert, born in 1966, Furlan was the face of Fim alla Sole, a car components company where he had worked for 30 years, of which 27 lived as a union delegate. Furlan was a true leader, not only for members of the FIM: in recent years he has been the most voted candidate in the elections for the renewal of the corporate RSU.

“Loris – remembers Alessio Lovisotto, general secretary of Fim Belluno Treviso – never shied away from confrontation, even when he was tight. He was a man and a trade unionist who went against the grain. Never yielding to populism, he had kept himself humble and simple even in his look as a person of values and not frivolities ”.

Colleagues and delegates with whom he has shared so many battles are locked in deep pain. On Monday the FIM Board of Directors, together with his colleagues from the RSU, will remember him with a minute of silence.

Condolences and closeness to the Federation of Treviso metalworkers and the RSU also arrived from the national Fim, which recalled Furlan on its social channels, and from the CISL of Belluno Treviso, through the words of its general secretary: “Loris’s – comments Massimiliano Paglini – it was a sudden death that affected us enormously. He was a well known and respected delegate, present and helpful with the workers. An enormous void will remain for the passion with which he carried out his service for male and female workers ”.
