The unvaccinated are at least ten thousand, unions in turmoil. One week at the start, the race for the organization of controls has begun

BELLUNO. There are those who will do the random checks who will do them at the entrance who will do both, but the biggest problem, from October 15, the day of the mandatory Green pass to access jobs, will be to guarantee employees the swab in time to cross the factory doors on time. The unions ask that companies organize hubs in front of their sites, that they make agreements with private structures to be able to guarantee antigen tests for everyone. But the situation is not simple because even private medical centers do not have so much staff to respond to an exponential increase in requests.

The tampon issue

“To date, according to the ULSS, between 10 and 15 thousand Belluno people of working age have not been vaccinated against Covid, it is presumable that most of them will have to undergo a swab from 15 October in order to access at the place of work », explains Michele Ferraro, secretary of the provincial UIL. “But it is difficult to think that the four Covid point swabs of the Ulss and the pharmacies that so far have joined the campaign for antigen tests will be able to meet the needs of the territory. We have also asked companies to establish agreements with private structures to be able to guarantee this service to workers, but it does not seem to be possible. We also asked for tents to be provided in each industrial area to perform the test, but this does not seem feasible either. So how will it be done? », Ferraro asks himself, who then points the finger at the system that« to those who take the first dose of the vaccine gets green certification after 15 days ».

Private centers

Private medical centers are also in great difficulty. “We register a great pressure for tampons at 48 hours in all our offices”, they say from the Medical Center of Feltre which, in order to be able to meet the needs of companies that ask the center for help, is planning the possibility of performing 400 tampons per week. “As we manage to increase the number of our staff, we will also increase our responsiveness. We are constantly looking for staff, despite the fact that the service has already seen the nursing and administrative staff increase by 50% in the last period, ”said the Center of Medicine.

“The first tampon requests are concentrated in the early morning, but we have to distribute the requests throughout the day. We get requests by the hour. Now there are also road hauliers who ask for the service on the weekend ».

He green pass

Meanwhile, companies are trying to figure out how to organize checks on their employees’ Green Passes. Most are planning to check both inbound and in the factory for green certifications with electronic tools, such as those now used for temperature measurement.

The situation is not easy, also because there are so many questions that remain unanswered so far, starting with what those workers who have to do with the Green pass from buffer expire during working hours. Confusion reigns supreme only a week after the decree comes into force. At Safilo, for example, the checks will be carried out at the entrance to the factory when the Green pass but also the identification document or badge will be requested. In some establishments where thousands of people are concentrated, the police were also alerted for October 15.
