Taranto, illness after vaccine: the Sicilian financier leaves the hospital

by admin

This was explained by the ASP who excluded “thrombotic” events: “It was a normal reaction to the vaccine”

The 43-year-old financier originally from Sicily, serving in the Naval Section of Taranto, who had suffered a serious illness a few days after receiving a dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, was discharged from the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Taranto.

The chosen constable had been hospitalized on 7 March last. “No thrombotic event was detected – specifies ASL Taranto – and the disorders accused by the patient are contemplated in the reactions to any type of vaccine“.

The ASL adds that “the neuropsychological evaluation” did not reveal “any neurological deficit” or “cognitive”, and the patient “was able to leave the hospital in Taranto in the company of his wife”.

After being vaccinated with AstraZeneca on the afternoon of February 26, the financier had a very high fever during the night. In the following days he had been found to have a psychomotor slowdown until he was admitted to the complex of Neurology on Sunday 7 March. The neurological conditions rapidly worsened until, on Tuesday, March 9, the patient went into a coma and was then transferred to the intensive care and anesthesia facility where he was intubated.

Thanks to the care of the multi-specialist teams, adds the ASL, his conditions had improved so much that on Friday 12 March the patient, alert and reactive, was extubated and transferred back to Neurology for other checks. His condition has continued to improve until today, when it was decided to discharge him.
