Technicians, digital artisans and cooks: these are the most sought-after figures in the world of work in Fvg

by admin

Even the chefs among the most sought-after professionals in the world of regional work

The training of Enaip and Ial aims to provide companies with highly specialized professionals

UDINE. There are the digital craftsman who works with 3D printers and the worker who makes machines communicate in 4.0 factories. But also the IT security officer, the warehouse worker or the welder. Not to mention chefs and restaurant staff, as well as hairdressers and mechanics. But above all highly specialized technicians for manufacturing and logistics. It is no longer about the professions of the future. These are the jobs of today, the ones most requested by companies in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Professional figures that are in short supply, despite the efforts that institutions, bodies in charge such as schools, Enaip, Ial, Civiform and companies are making to train them. But at the base of everything there is the demographic problem: the audience from which to fish the suitable profiles is reduced from the start, because Friuli Venezia Giulia is among the oldest regions of Italy. Fewer pink and blue bows, fewer kids in the classrooms, fewer potential workers in the factories of the future. So it is necessary to reverse the trend, easy to say, very difficult to achieve.

enaip projects

“The companies of this region are looking for technicians,” says the papal papal Antonella Van Den Heuvel, director of the employability area of ENAIP, which manages courses and training activities (including for the unemployed) financed by the Region through the European Social Fund. «The ITS theme – adds the manager – responds to a need of manufacturing companies that are looking for technicians, but at the moment there are few. Almost all industrial sectors are involved, in particular the technicians for numerical control machines and logistics managers are in great demand. The world of work has increased the skills that are needed in any field (IT, digitalization) skills that were not so indispensable until a few years ago. There are no longer any low-complexity jobs, even a warehouse worker must continually update his skills to keep up with the times. The idea of the old-fashioned factory, where the tasks were simple, has disappeared. When companies turn to us for targeted projects to train technicians, it means they need it. In Friuli Venezia Giulia the demographic aspect is important, it weighs a lot, there are few young people and naturally the audience of those who can be useful is shrinking. Then there is also the issue of the difference between skills acquired in high school and skills more typical of the world of work, which companies would like to be already the baggage of the potential employee. We have paths of 800 hours done in strong synergy with companies, where 400 hours are of training within the factory. Professional training has the task of bringing young people closer to the needs of companies, these are increasingly high demands, both for high school and university graduates. Banks are also interested in our courses. It is also easy to find a safe place: when it comes to co-designed courses there is a selection upstream and within those who participate in the course, almost all, let’s say 90%, find themselves with a signed contract in hand. The same high employment figures are also given by the ITS (Enaip is among the members) two-year and three-year courses and also the 800-hour Ifts (Higher Technical Education and Training) courses. Surely the strong theme of today and tomorrow is that relating to the smart factory: an industry that is increasingly interconnected in all its processes. And so on digitization, industrial automation, IT security, environmental sustainability, training tries to give answers to companies. Friuli Venezia Giulia is a region of excellence for the synergy that has been created between employment centers and training institutions, in this field we are at the forefront. We try to appease this hunger of companies for suitable professional figures, the training courses are of quality, with the best teachers who come from the world of work. However, chefs, pastry chefs, and room service staff are also sought: in these sectors too, new knowledge is needed compared to the past, for example the ability to know how to manage IT aspects, languages and the theme of promotion linked to new mmeans of communication such as social media. Finally, we are looking for window and door fabricators, tinsmiths, welders, now ultra-specialized trades, where training is continuous. And again those who do programming, data analysts. We have a lot of offer, but there are fewer young people, we will also need to focus on the retraining of people who are still young: those who are 30 years old and have lost a job need to be put back on track, this is one of the issues that we will have to face with active policies “.

ITS Foundations and IFTS regional centers have courses for about 500 people on ITS programs for 2021-22 and another 300 students for IFTS.

The philosophy of the Ial

«The needs of companies do not always meet the demand. There is a lot of expectation in families, even the second generations of foreigners are aiming for a broader study path for their children, up to graduation “, explains the director general of Ial Fvg Gabriele De Simone. «The professions currently most in demand? Those concerning the Iot (Internet of thinghs), or the maker, the digital craftsman who works with 3D printers. They are profiles that go beyond the old concept of craftsman, required both by the market and by the kids themselves, you can work in industry, medical and other sectors, from aeronautics with drones or even for restorations or making furniture components. . As far as higher education is concerned, there are Its courses, which have a very professionalizing curve, which train technicians with specific skills that are obtained in at least two-year courses after graduation. This is a bet that Italy wants to take thanks to the PNRR and that other countries such as Germany have already taken. Work has changed a lot, even digitization requires very strong skills. Finally, there are the routes linked to the hotel tourism sector, personal care, hairdressers, mechanics, cooks, staff in the dining room ».
