Thanks to the vaccine, Italians are sure to go on vacation

by admin

Seven out of 10 Italians are sure to go on vacation this summer, almost double compared to the same period last year, and almost all, 9 out of 10, want to stay in Italy. The sea is confirmed as the ideal destination while the cities of art take points. The preferred solution for staying is the holiday home. And in the choices the vaccine against Covid had a preponderant role: only for one in 10 travelers the injection had ‘no’ influence in the choice to leave.

These are some of the data from the research on the propensity to go on vacation in the summer of vaccination carried out by the Quorum / Youtrend Agency and commissioned by Wonderful Italy, a company founded in 2017 and specialized in offering stays in authentic places in Sicily, Puglia, Campania, Emilia, Liguria and Piedmont.

Only 16% believe that the vaccine has ‘little’ to do with it and 10% ‘nothing’ in the will to leave or not. In addition, more than 8 out of 10 respondents feel very or quite calm thanks to vaccinations.

Among those who have no doubts about leaving, the most convinced are men (76.4% against 66.8% of women), the age group from 35 to 54 years (76%) and graduates (73.8%). The sea remains at the top of the preferences for almost 60% of the sample, slightly down compared to 2020, the mountains are liked by 17% while the cities of art are chosen by 10.2%, almost double compared to last year. To make their favorite holiday, a third of respondents can also assume a journey of over 500 kilometers while nearby holidays are liked only by 7%. The ideal activities are characterized by nature (52.8%), food and wine (51%), art (50%) and sport (31.7%), in line with 2020.
