The 10th anniversary forum for the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was held in Tianjin on February 23, marking a milestone in the ongoing efforts to promote integrated development in the area.

The conference, hosted by the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, Nankai University, and the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, brought together key stakeholders to discuss the progress and future plans for the coordinated development of the three regions.

During the forum, Shen Lei, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, emphasized the importance of coordinated regional development in promoting high-quality development and Chinese-style modernization. He highlighted the need to innovate integrated urban development systems and mechanisms to deepen and solidify the cooperation between Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei.

Keynote speeches were delivered by Li Wei, vice chairman of the China Economic and Social Council, and Yang Weimin, vice chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, who shared insights on the future direction of the coordinated development initiative.

Additionally, the development and reform commissions of the three regions presented updates on the progress of the coordinated development efforts in their respective areas. The release of the “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Report 2024” and the “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Nankai Index 2024” underscored the commitment to transparency and accountability in the development process.

Overall, the forum highlighted the significant strides made in promoting integrated development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region over the past decade and set the stage for continued collaboration and progress in the years to come.
