Now in its tenth edition after the one staged between Salento and Rome, on 19 May 2022 the Vigna argento award debuted in Milan. The award – the ceremony took place in the Lombardy Region – was given to personalities from culture, entertainment, institutions and civil society who have contributed to the growth of the country. Prizes were awarded to the conductor Stefano Ranzani, the set designer Margherita Palli, Silvio Garattini, the politicians Emmanuel Conte, Cristina Rossello and Riccardo De Corato, Iva Zanicchi, Massimo Boldi, the journalist Roberto Alessi and the entrepreneurs Augusto Mazzolari and Tomaso Trussardi, the latter awarded by the Pavese winemaker Antonio Faravelli.

The award is organized by the Salento association “City of music” chaired by Pino Lagalle, creator of the initiative and represents one of the symbols of Puglia and Italy, that is the vine plant that tells of the area’s industriousness. Patron Lagalle: «The award, born in Salento, this year has become a national project entitled“ Unitalia ”in an ideal route from the south, to the center and to the north, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the SIAE». The 2022 edition of the award will in fact also stop in Lecce on 25 June and in Rome on 22 September.
