Covid and the economic impact of the pandemic have forced Mario Draghi’s government to adopt a series of decrees to deal with the emergency from mid-February (period of his settlement in Palazzo Chigi). With the consequence that after the Easter holidays the parliament will have to rush to avoid being faced with a new traffic jam. Nine decree laws will have to be converted by the end of May, a work that will overlap with the resolution of the Economic and Financial Document (Def), as well as the request for a new deviation to finance a new aid decree, expected for mid-April.
The two Covid decrees with restrictive measures
By April 24 the decree with the restrictive measures until Easter will be converted into law (the text is still in first reading in the Senate, in committee). These are measures that will in fact be superseded after April 6, when the rules of the other Covid decree, which entered into force in mid-March and which will be converted into law by April 30, will come into force until April 30. May 12 (this is also in committee, but in the Chamber).

From the postponement of the elections to the competition for lawyers
Indirectly linked to the Covid emergency are also three other decrees, the one on the postponement of administrative elections of spring (which must take place between September 15 and October 15), the one on the rules for the competition of lawyers (which has already received the approval of the Senate and is now in committee in the House), and finally the one onvaccination obligation of health workers, on the criminal shield for doctors who carry out anti Covid vaccines and the rules for competing in the judiciary. The deadlines for the conversion into law are respectively 7, 12 and 31 May.
The Sostegni decree, amendments are coming
The process of the Sostegni decree, the first launched by the Draghi government with economic aid to the categories affected by the impact of the pandemic, is announced much more challenging. The text is still in the Senate Commission, and the parties have already announced their willingness to make changes. Which will involve more than two readings. But the deadline is not that far away: May 21.
From Venice to food security
Expires April 30 the decree on the reorganization of ministries, one of the first acts of the Draghi government following the establishment of the department of ecological transition, that of sustainable infrastructure and mobility, and the unpacking of the ministry of culture and tourism. There is more time instead (May 23) to convert the food safety decree that corrects the legislative decree that decriminalized crimes. By May 31 finally, the decree governing cruise traffic in the Venice lagoon will have to be converted into law.
