The Attorney General’s Office requests that the designation of Mancuso as ‘peace manager’ does not affect his judicial commitments

The Attorney General’s Office (Public Ministry) requested this Saturday that the designation as “peace manager” of the former paramilitary chief Salvatore Mancuso, who arrived in Colombia this week deported from the United States, does not affect their commitments to the Justice and Peace Law.

“In no way can it ignore and dilute the obligations and commitments with the Justice and Peace process, mainly because its core are and will continue to be the victims,” stated the national Justice and Peace coordinator of the control body, quoted in a statement.

Mancuso arrived in Bogotá on Tuesday from the United States, from where he was deported after serving a sentence for drug trafficking, and assured that he will abide by “the restrictive conditions” imposed by the Justice of his country.
