On July 28, the Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters of Xinxiang City, Henan Province reported that as of 17:30 that day, heavy rainfall caused 148 townships in 14 counties, including Huixian City, Weihui City, Fengquan District, and Muye District, Xinxiang City. Among the disasters, Weihui City was the worst hit, and there were no casualties for the time being.
However, a large number of posts on the Internet showed that Weihui City was besieged by floods for many days and the water level continued to rise, reaching a depth of two or three meters. During the rescue process, some people were missing and some died. But these people were not included in the death list.

Mr. Wang said that the child’s father was working in a field. The child’s mother took two children, the mother was holding her daughter, and the other was holding Wang Jiahang. There were a lot of rescue boats that day. “The boat we were on rolled over in the middle. When the boat overturned, people fell into the water, and the child ran away. We all grabbed the side of the boat and didn’t rush away.”
“The entire Weihui City was flooded, and the villages close to the Weihe River were all flooded. There was no electricity or water, and there was no mobile phone signal. The people panicked and began to move out. But the village stopped moving people out on the evening of the 23rd. Ms. Zhao’s uncle lost contact during the evacuation process on the 26th and was transferred to two places one after another. The mobile phone did not have electricity, and did not contact her home until the 28th.
