Capo Mulini (Catania) – A canoeist reported by telephone to the Operations Room of the Coast Guard of Catania the presence in the sea of a 34-year-old woman, in Capo Mulini, in the Acese.
The Port Authority of Catania sent the patrol boat SAR CP 888 on the spot, which arrived in the area and identified and recovered the body on board, which was transported to the Port Authority; only after the cadaveric inspection, the coroner was able to ascertain, at the moment, that it is a young woman of African origin but with German citizenship.
At the disposal of the Judiciary, the body was transferred to the Catania Polyclinic for further medical-legal investigations. The woman, it was found, was on vacation with friends in Sicily. From the initial investigations, the hypothesis that death is linked to a malicious event is not considered probable. The police investigate the matter. The Public Prosecutor of Catania ordered the autopsy.
