The Cts: «Discos are open» But someone has already closed – breaking latest news

SALERNO. Sometimes a reopening is not enough. The one “suggested” by the Technical Scientific Committee, which gave the green light to the reopening of the discos in zzona bianca, albeit outdoors and with some resignations, perhaps for some it came too late. Recurring stories in the terrible 16 months of the Covid era: numerous activities have had to lower the shutters under the weight of an economic crisis that is difficult to sustain and from which someone has managed to come out with very small steps.
At the closing, not even activities belonging to one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic, that of discos, nightlife, survived. And this is how Luca Pomposelli’s “Tartana”, a paradise for fans of latin music in Battipaglia, he had to officially “close shop”. The owner explains: “We have met several times with the owner of the structure, in the months of closure caused by the pandemic, but without concrete support from the Government it was not possible to resist”. That absence of aid, loudly requested by all the owners of the structures never arrived or not enough, gave the decisive blow: “A total investment of about 150 thousand euros, plus about 50 thousand just to maintain it, despite the general lockout” . Up to the lowered shutter. For Pomposelli it is too late, but he does not give up: «I am looking for a new structure for my business. I don’t give up ». Similar words from Antonio Baio, owner of the “Black Noise” nightclub in Nocera Superiore: «By now the situation is too critical. We are not sure about the future and returning to indoor venues, like ours, is still a distant thought ». On the other hand, there are those who welcome the opinion of the CTS with joy, which with green pass (or negative swab or certificate of healing), anti-Covid safety regulations and reduced capacity allows the proper conduct of the evening dance, even if only outdoors (and however, postponing the decision to the Government, which is evaluating the time X for the first ten days of July. “It’s nice that we finally give breath to this sector” says Emanuele Avagliano, a well-known organizer of events from Salerno, who however has some reservations for the winter season: “The disco is beautiful because you have fun being neighbors, dancing on top of each other, having a drink. In August and September, outdoors is fine, even with restrictions, but in winter it would take away the soul from the disco “.
Another of the “night workers”, DJ Kevin Russo, intervenes on the issue: “After more than a year off, a restart is necessary not only to restore the economy, but also and above all to definitively fill the emotional and social gaps that the pandemic has caused. The tight safety regulations will only contribute to the total resumption of normal life that we have always led. Respecting them will prevent the possibility of entering a loop infinity which in September would lead to new closures ». This summer will represent a real “passage of light” for the deejay: «The doors will open towards an essential restoration, which will certainly take on new guises. This is what happens when you stop doing what you love for a long time; when you are given the opportunity to resume, the passion is even stronger ».
