«My daughter was very ill – says her mother – so I tried to call the medical guard in via Gervasutta: always busy. Giarrusso, stopped in front of the door of the clinic, therefore called the carabinieri, who informed her that they could not intervene and transferred the call to the emergency room. “I have been in line with the operators for almost twenty minutes, they have tried to calm me down and have tried to contact the doctors on call, also without success. Yet, I saw people inside, I can’t understand why they didn’t provide assistance, they could just open the door. ” Mother and daughter then returned home and waited the next morning to see the general practitioner.

The outburst of the mother denounces a health organization unable to accept requests for help that are not motivated by Covid: “We did not feel like going to the emergency room, like many we are afraid of contracting the virus. Plus I just got out of radiotherapy for months, my daughter is not well, we thought the wisest solution was to contact the medical guard. Rightly, the population is invited not to crowd the hospital, but if the support services do not respond what should we do, who should we rely on? ».
The Healthcare Company does not comment and invites the lady to report what happened to the Public Relations Office (Urp). Through a written request, he adds «It will be possible to arrange a verification of what happened and a possible subsequent measure. We are always careful to monitor the quality of services and possibly improve the assistance paths ».
