The De Grazia brothers, linked to El Aissami, will be charged with alleged treason

The Public Ministry has announced that the brothers Daniel José, Levin Salvatore, and Carmelo De Grazia Suárez will be charged with treason following their arrest by agents from the Search and Capture Division of the Cicpc on Friday.

The De Grazia brothers, who are main shareholders of the financial entity Bancamiga, had an arrest warrant issued by the Special Court 2 against Terrorism. This court is handling the main file of those being investigated for five corruption schemes involving PDVSA, the Venezuelan Corporation of Guyana, Cartones de Venezuela, the Judiciary, and Mayor’s Offices.

In addition to the treason charge, the De Grazias will also face charges of profit or diversion of money, securities or public property, boasting or taking advantage of relationships or influences, money laundering, and association to commit a crime, as stated in the arrest warrants 104-24, 104-25, and 104-26.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Bancamiga held the currencies of businessmen who wanted to do business with PDVSA in custody during Tarek El Aissami’s tenure as head of the state oil company.

The case is still ongoing, and more information can be found on Last News.
