[NTDNewsSeptember292021Beijingtime]The Chinese Communist Party official reported on September 29 that Zhou Mengbo, the deputy secretary of the China Railway Former Party Committee, is currently being reviewed and investigated by the Chinese Communist Party for suspected serious violations of discipline and law. Previously, Zhou Mengbo was accused of corruption and escaped and was deported to his country.
The website of the State Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China announced on September 29 that Zhou Mengbo, the deputy secretary of the former party committee of China Railways, was arrested overseas and sent back to the country on suspicion of serious violations of discipline and law. He is currently under investigation.
Public information shows that Zhou Mengbo, born in February 1965, is a new savage in Henan. Previously served as Deputy General Manager of China Railway Engineering Corporation, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of China Railway Engineering Corporation, Vice President and Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of China Railway Corporation, Executive Director of China Railway Corporation, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Railway Engineering Corporation, China Railway Engineering Corporation Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Group Co., Ltd., Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Director of China Railway Group Co., Ltd.
In June 2019, China Railway Corporation Limited issued a personnel adjustment announcement, showing that Zhou Mengbo applied to the company’s board of directors to resign from the company’s executive director due to personal reasons, and will no longer hold any position in the company after resignation.
At the time, 54-year-old Zhou Mengbo’s resignation aroused public attention. After that, it was reported that he “jumped the bridge to commit suicide”.
On August 31, according to CCTV news from the Communist Party of China, Zhou Mengbo, a criminal suspect who fled to work and the former deputy secretary of the China Railway Engineering Group Co., Ltd., was arrested overseas and sent back to China.
According to the report, Zhou Mengbo was suspected of taking bribes. After fleeing in May 2019, he was recently escorted back to China by the Chinese case-handling agency.
This is the first time that the news of Zhou Mengbo’s resignation has appeared in the public eye after a lapse of more than two years.
