Helicopters and Canadair go back and forth, at risk from casere, provincial 251 always closed at the Igne roundabout
LONGARONE. The fire that broke out Igne and Soffranco, in the Longaronese, along the road that leads to Val di Zoldo, regained vigor during the night. Throughout the morning of Saturday 26 March, three helicopters and two Canadair shuttled between the Piave and Lake Santa Croce to refuel with water to be dropped on the front of the fire. The provincial road 251 remains closed to traffic at the Igne roundabout, where there is a garrison of the firefighters not only of the Belluno command but also of those of Treviso and Venice.
In the meantime, the extinguishing operations of the other fire that had developed over the town of Fortogna are practically completed. During the night the flames had regained strength and a few more missions by helicopters were required.
