The first non-Covid patients arrive in the RSA of Variney

by admin

The Gignod facility will be used to decongest the Parini hospital

Variney’s Assisted Healthcare Residence will host Covid-19 negative patients. The RSA located in the municipality of Gignod was in fact converted from a facility for infected patients to service for patients discharged from the Parini hospital who still need assistance or must undergo rehabilitation.

“Already today, Tuesday 20 July, the first patients are expected to be transferred from the Parini hospital,” explains the USL Valle d’Aosta.

«These are post-acute patients not positive for the Sars CoV2 virus, who need assistance or who must undergo rehabilitation – explains the director of District 2, Francesca Faelli -. They are patients who can be discharged from the hospital but who cannot be sent home, for specific clinical needs or for problems of a social and welfare nature. The function is also to welcome users from the territory with the same characteristics as hospital patients “.

In this way, as happened during the waves of contagion from Covid-19, the RSA of Variney will be used to decongest the regional hospital which will thus have more places available for serious patients.

If the pandemic situation worsens again, Variney’s RSA will once again be reconverted as needed.
