Two contenders, including Bruno Zago. After years of neglect, the relaunch for the historic industrial area of Silea is coming
TREVISO. The Chiari & Forti di Silea was sold: 88 thousand square meters of industrial archeology and former production plants on the banks of the Sile, abandoned for over ten years.
THE DEAL
The purchase is still awaiting the official stamp – it will take weeks – but the sale of the area is also certain because, unlike in the past in which all the sales experiments had gone empty, this time the offers were at least two. Go-real-bid, a company specialized in the management of large judicial sales procedures, which had been managing the deal for a couple of years together with the bankruptcy trustee, was also managing the tender electronically. Basic auction price: 2.5 million euros, half of what was requested in the last auction made for the sale of the property about a year ago (5 million and a little more), one sixth compared to the initial appraisal value made at the beginning of the odyssey linked to the knockout of Silea Parco srl.
THE DREAMS, THE CONCORDATO, THE AUCTIONS
The company – satellite of Francesco Bellavista Caltagirone’s Acqua Pia Antica Marcia but controlled by the Luxembourg-based Gedeam Investments which was headed by the same Roman entrepreneur – was created to manage the Chiari & Forti business, envisaging its redevelopment. In the archive you can also find photos of this vanished dream called “Parco Silea”: it is a choral in which Giancarlo Galan (former president of Veneto), the former president of the Muraro Province, the former mayor of Silea Piazza and Caltagirone appear , all together in the act of laying the first stone of a redevelopment that never moved from there. The company was hit by the storm of its patron and went into agreement. From there the auctions – no less than seven – each time lower. It started from 12 million, went down to 9, then to 7, then to 5 and now to 2.5 million euros. A figure that may not be enough to satisfy all the Silea Parco creditors, including illustrious names in the Treviso economy.
THERE WAS ALSO THE INTEREST OF ZAGO
The Progest entrepreneur, who in fact is also the neighbor of Chiari & Forti, had already appeared at the door of the Municipality and of the curator of the compendium years ago; he imagined a hotel, a prestigious redevelopment that would combine nature with new commercial opportunities but then he never took the step of appearing at auctions. The dream, however, remained in the drawer, apparently: Zago participated in the race to the bottom but did not win. “I hope that the clear and strong will go into the hands of entrepreneurs who know what to do with it for the good of the territory and the beauty of that place” said Bruno Zago yesterday at the end of the auction.
THE STEPS TO TAKE
The road to renewal is still long, after shopping there are agreements to be found with the Municipality of Silea (which two years ago renewed the agreement for the redevelopment of the area while maintaining the public charges foreseen years ago). the future project is to be subjected to the scrutiny of the Superintendency, Sile Park Authority, Genius, Province, Region (and so on and so forth), and there is investment to be made for redevelopment.
