SUNSETS BELOW. They were taking a walk along the Cai path number 982 which leads from Campone to the source of the Chiarzò stream when he fell. The person who was with him, a woman resident in Campone in 1959, in turn fell for about three meters with him to the stream to stop his slide. The incident happened on the afternoon of Thursday 29 July.
The worst was the woman who has a suspected hip fracture, while the man managed to get up, albeit with a swollen leg, and go for help. The man then decided to call Nue112 and the Sores alerted the Maniago mountain rescue station and the regional helicopter rescue at around 12.30. The ground teams arrived on foot in twenty minutes with three technicians in support of the helicopter rescue.
The technical health team was lowered from the aircraft on the spot with a winch and stabilized and embarked on the woman while the other rescuers accompanied her excursion companion downstream.
