The incident occurred near the exit D of Panyu Square Metro Station, located in the Qinghe Middle Road section of the municipal road in front of the district government. According to the Guangzhou Panyu Public Security Bulletin, at about 17:34 on the 28th, the suspect, Zheng, wounded three people with a fruit knife. Zheng was shot and wounded by the police. At present, the injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment. The case is still under investigation.
Multiple live videos showed that a man wearing a red T-shirt cut and wounded a passerby. There was a woman shouting in horror at the scene, and a man kneeled on the ground after being injured. A suspected security guard came to rescue him, but was unarmed and was chased by the man in red, and the security guard dealt with him. An insider told The Epoch Times reporter that the scene was in a mess and blood, with multiple wounded lying on the ground. The murderer was shot down by the police who rushed to the scene, and there were multiple gunfires at the scene. He said, “I was just passing by, and I just happened to bump into it. I don’t know who exactly killed it. But when I happened to pass by, I saw a man with a long fruit knife driving towards the police. After all, it was the first time I saw such a thing, anyway. The man with the knife didn’t move much after he fell. It was not clear whether he was alive or dead. After the shooting, (I) was a little scared, so I didn’t stay there anymore and drove away.”
He said, “Who else can it be? I think it’s revenge on society. Drinking is impossible. It’s definitely not easy to shoot at all. Mental illness is a bit fake. It’s better to retaliate against society. Everyone is under pressure now.”
