According to Fuzhou Customs statistics, from January to July, the province’s foreign trade imports and exports amounted to RMB 1,025.35 billion, an increase of 38% over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, exports were 597.04 billion yuan, an increase of 35.3%; imports were 428.31 billion yuan, an increase of 42.1%. Compared with the same period in 2019, imports and exports, exports and imports increased by 36.3%, 24.3%, and 57.6%, respectively, ranking the top of the major eastern coastal provinces and cities in the country.
Since June last year, Fujian’s monthly imports and exports have achieved year-on-year growth for 14 consecutive months. Among the various trade entities, private enterprises have given full play to their advantages in independent and flexible production and operation, and their position as the largest foreign trade entity has become more stable. In the first seven months, the import and export of private enterprises in Fujian Province was 549.36 billion yuan, an increase of 52.8%, accounting for 53.6% of the province’s total foreign trade import and export value in the same period, and the proportion increased by 5.2 percentage points from the same period last year. In the same period, foreign-invested enterprises and state-owned enterprises achieved import and export of 251.73 billion yuan and 223.07 billion yuan, an increase of 18.1% and 32.6% respectively.
In the first seven months, exports of major commodities achieved double-digit growth. Among them, the export of mechanical and electrical products was 220.23 billion yuan, an increase of 33.9%, accounting for 36.9% of the province’s total foreign trade export value during the same period; the export of electrical equipment, automatic data processing equipment and their parts and components was 30.22 billion yuan and 19.86 billion yuan, an increase of 92.4%. , 22.5%; the export of seven categories of labor-intensive products such as textiles and garments was 197.65 billion yuan, an increase of 25.4%; the export of agricultural products was 39.34 billion yuan, an increase of 14.4%.
Industrial production has continued to recover, and imports of driven electrical products and energy resources have expanded significantly. In the first seven months, imports of mechanical and electrical products amounted to 72.84 billion yuan, an increase of 25.4%; iron ore, copper ore, crude oil, and steel imported 65.671 million tons, 1.89 million tons, 9.107 million tons, and 1.617 million tons, respectively, an increase of 2.8%, 6.5%, 47.6%, 13.1%. The import of agricultural products was 59.01 billion yuan, an increase of 43.4%.
In addition, companies have promoted the export scale of epidemic prevention materials and power battery products to expand exponentially in accordance with the needs of epidemic prevention and control and the development of new energy vehicles. In the first seven months, the province’s export of immune products was 17.17 billion yuan, an increase of 90.6 times; the export of power batteries was 10.68 billion yuan, an increase of 324.8%. The province’s imports and exports to ASEAN, Latin America, Africa and other emerging markets increased by 39.8% in total, 1.8 percentage points higher than the overall level. New trade formats such as market procurement and cross-border e-commerce continue to maintain a vigorous growth trend, which has allowed new growth points in our province’s foreign trade to continue to emerge.
