According to reports, in the past 10 years, my country’s scientific and technological undertakings have undergone major changes in historical, overall and pattern, and successfully entered the ranks of innovative countries.
The data shows that the R&D investment of the whole society in my country has increased from 1.03 trillion yuan in 2012 to 2.79 trillion yuan in 2021, and the R&D investment intensity has increased from 1.91% to 2.44%. According to the global innovation index ranking released by the World Intellectual Property Organization, my country has risen from 34th in 2012 to 12th in 2021. The number of high-tech enterprises nationwide has increased from 49,000 more than 10 years ago to 330,000 in 2021, and the amount of tax paid has increased from 0.8 trillion yuan in 2012 to 2.3 trillion yuan in 2021. More than one third of the country’s high-tech enterprises are gathered in 169 national high-tech zones, and the per capita labor productivity is 2.7 times the national average. In the first four months of this year, the operating income of the National High-tech Zone was 13.7 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%.
In 2021, the national technology contract turnover will reach 3.73 trillion yuan, exceeding the total social R&D investment of 2.79 trillion yuan and 5.8 times that of 10 years ago.
The proportion of Chinese citizens with scientific literacy has increased from 6.2% in 2015 to 10.56% in 2020. There were only 118 physical science and technology museums in 2012, and now it has increased to 408; the system of modern science and technology museums with Chinese characteristics has developed rapidly, serving more than 850 million offline people.
