The lifts can start again on Saturday

BELLUNO. Satisfied yes, but half-satisfied. At least the installers. The restaurateurs, on the other hand, got what they asked for. Cable cars, gondolas, chairlifts can reactivate on 22 May, but they must do so in compliance with the guidelines. Which? They are not there yet. Recently, the Tourism Commission of the Conference of Regions passed the copy of those of last winter and summer to the top. By applying which, however, we can begin; also because they have the maximum restriction (50 per cent by cable car and gondola). As far as catering is concerned, however, satisfaction is full for the “reasonable” choice of bringing the curfew to 11 pm and, from 7 June to 24, and then abolishing it on 21 June.

In the evening, the Council of Ministers gave the long-awaited go-ahead also for dinners or drinks within the exercises from 1 June.

SKILIFTS

«Opening on May 22? We weren’t even hoping ”, admits Renzo Minella, president of Anf, the trade association,“ we thought, in fact, that the green light would be given at the end of the month ”. But, beware: it reopens – informs Palazzo Chigi – in compliance with the guidelines. «Lines that do not exist yet and that can no longer be delayed», Minella affirms, «the draft we have heard about recently is unacceptable, because it still provides for the quota planned for the winter. Which makes no sense in the summer, because attendance is much lower ».

Minella has no inkling of when the measures will be decided. Stefano Illing, owner of the company that manages the cableway between Falzarego and Lagazuoi, could be among the first to open in the Dolomites. «We, in truth, would also be ready. Or almost ready; we should perfect the final preparations. But we need to see what constraints they will impose on us. And, frankly, it is a bit late to plan the reopening on the 22nd. The guidelines, in fact, do not yet exist ».

Up there on the Lagazuoi, however, the snow is even more than a meter high. «We have been soliciting guidelines for weeks», Minella recalls, «we will be back to doing so in the next few hours. It is evident, however, that as stated in the advance note from Palazzo Chigi, the provisions that already exist can be respected. Waiting for the improvements we are asking for ».

In the Dolomiti Superski area, only the Welschonofen Laurin gondola is scheduled for 22 May. The Sass Pordoi cable car has scheduled the departure on May 29th (to even close on November 1st).

RESTAURANT

Rossana Roma, president of Fipe, the federation of public businesses, is satisfied with the timing adopted for the curfew, considering the various stages “reasonable”. She says she is even more satisfied because, contrary to the first rumors of yesterday afternoon, from June 1st it will be possible to dine not only outside the restaurants, but also inside. “It would have been very problematic to accommodate guests in the open air. Just in these days we have found that a drop of rain is enough to blow up a dinner ». All is well, then, what ends well. “Of course, our commitment remains that of distancing, of the mask, of hand sanitizing,” he assures.

SUPPORT DECREES

The Sostegni decrees are also on the way, eagerly awaited in the Dolomites. The first will be voted on today in the chamber. The Minister for Relations with Parliament, Federico D’Incà, placed on behalf of the government, the question of confidence in the approval without changes of the support decree in the text of the Commission, identical to that approved in the first reading by the Senate. The second, worth 40 billion, will go to the Council of Ministers at the latest on Thursday. –
