Chopin’s music has always been an integral part of his life. So much so that Marco Arcieri, sensitive and refined interpreter of the works of the Polish composer, was hired to perform, as the only soloist, the complete piano work of Chopin in the castle of Luigi Ferdinando di Prussia in Berlin, where he performs two concerts a year until to complete the complete work of the famous composer. Now Arcieri will perform on 12 October at the Olympic Theater in Rome with a “Homage to Chopin”.
The engineer musician studied at the Roman Philharmonic
Romano, engineer by training – for years he defined himself as “a pianist maintained by an engineer” – Marco Arcieri completed his musical studies first at the Roman Philharmonic under the guidance of Maestro Mons. Pablo Colino, then with concert pianists and academics, in Italy and abroad.
The sound of the 1845 Pleyel identical to that of Chopin
A tribute to Chopin – who describes the piano as his “second self” – by the Roman musician dedicated to the study of Chopin texts on his 1845 Pleyel, A piano that he himself restored, putting his hand to that characteristic mechanism. A piano identical to the one on which Chopin composed and played his works. «The Pleyel – explains Arcieri – allows me to listen to Chopin’s music with the same sonority, the same colors and timbres that the composer received, in his ear and heart, from that instrument». In the program at the Olimpico, the Nocturne in C sharp minor, the Nocturne op. 15 n. 2, the Study op. 25 n. 1, the Study op. 25 n. 12, the Ballad op. 23, the Waltzes op. 34 n. 2 and op. post. in E minor, the Studio op. 10 n. 3 Study op. 10 n. 4, the 4 Preludes op. 28, the Scherzo op. 31.
