CONEGLIANO. The Nativity of the Parè artistic crib group was inaugurated with a solemn celebration this morning, in the papal basilica of San Francesco, in Assisi.

A delegation of about ninety people from Conegliano, led by the president of the association Federico Stringher and Don Paolo Salatin, are taking part in the pilgrimage.

The Parè community collected various foodstuffs, which were delivered to the Franciscan soup kitchen for the poor. The volunteers of the Cavalieri dell’Etere civil protection of Conegliano collaborated for the transport and logistics.

After the nativity scene was set up in the Vatican in Christmas 2019, blessed by Pope Francis to whom it was donated, in these weeks it will be admired by thousands of faithful in the upper basilica of Assisi. Representing the City of Conegliano, the mayor Fabio Chies.

The installation of the Nativity was also filmed by Rai cameras, for a broadcast that will be broadcast on December 26th.
