The explosions, the stench, the flames, the screams. Fire envelops everything, devours, corrodes, melts. It goes on for two hours, damaging the structure of the Ponte dell’Industria, what for all Romans is the Iron Bridge. “We heard an explosion, the stench of burnt rubber and gas. The light went out and we went out into the street”, say the condominiums of a building on the Ostiense bank, a few meters from the fire.
