More than 60 elderly people over the age of 80 gathered together to eat a “love meal”, take commemorative photos, warm “love scarves” around their necks to keep out the cold, and watched the wonderful performance. On the ninth day of the Double Ninth Festival, nearly 60 elderly people over 80 from Shuizhai Village, Guanshan Street, Yanliang District, Xi’an, spent a happy Double Ninth Festival with a smile on their faces and a sweet heart at Sangsang Farm in Yanliang District.
“A family has an old person, like a treasure.” On the same day, Sangsang Farm prepared a respect-for-the-old banquet for nearly 60 elderly people over 80 in Shuizhai Village, Guanshan Street, Yanliang District, and spent this warm and happy Double Ninth Festival with them.
Early in the morning, under the leadership of the village cadres, caring people successively took the old people to the Sangsang Farm. Volunteers put warm scarves on the old people, took a commemorative photo for each old man, and gave them to the old people in frames. At the event site, Sang Li, the initiator of this event and the person in charge of Sangsang Farm, described her mental journey of growing up with this land, and her feelings for her 88-year-old grandmother, which originated from the love for the elderly in her heart. She shared this care with all the elderly present today, hoping that all the elderly can enjoy happiness.
With this sentiment, a number of elderly representatives, including an old party member with more than 60 years of party age, were invited to talk about family traditions, inheritance, and home affairs on the stage, and talked about their memory of the past and their children and grandchildren.
