The Pope has “commissariat” the Memores Domini, the lay association of Communion and Liberation. To take over the reins will be a bishop close to the same movement, monsignor Filippo Santoro, titular of the diocese of Taranto. The Pope’s decision is motivated by the difficulty within the association itself to find a univocal line on the changes to the statutes, the election of the board which took place not in a climate of total transparency and more generally a division on the figure of the leadership of CL, don Julian Carron, who succeeded the founder Don Luigi Giussani.
