SAN DANIELE The number one copy of Dante Guarneriano made by the Scriptorium Foroiuliense and delivered yesterday in the hands of the captain Gianfranco Bacchi by the mayor of San Daniele Pietro Valent together with the president and vice president will go around the world on board the Amerigo Vespucci training ship of the scribes Roberto Giurano and Agostino Maio.
The copy of the ancient codex Ms 200 is one of 13 created by the Scriptorium, ten of which are on sale (for charity) at the price of 5 thousand euros, the remaining three destined for symbolic places. The ship will sail today from La Spezia directed to Genoa, then to Montecarlo, ready for a new education campaign – after having suspended it, due to Covid, last year – with 400 people on board, of which 264 crew members and about 150 students. “The Vespucci is a magnificent ship and being able to boast a copy of our Dante on board this all-Italian symbol that is preparing to travel the world is a great opportunity for the city,” said Mayor Valent yesterday announcing for next 21 June the public presentation of the reproduction of Dante Guarneriano, present – among others – the president of the Region, Massimiliano Fedriga.
