The prime minister called a security council before negotiations with partners in Paris – what does it mean according to Eugene Korda | | .a week

Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) convened the Security Council and the government on Monday (February 26) morning, he also wants to negotiate with coalition partners. He did so in connection with the planned meeting of partners from the European Union (EU) and NATO in Paris, where the situation in Ukraine should be discussed. The Prime Minister informed about it on the social network.

“The information about the topics we are supposed to talk about on Monday is chilling. That is also why I have to speak with the security, intelligence and political components of the state in the morning,” declared the prime minister.

He explained that partners from the EU and NATO should participate in the negotiations in France, and they should focus on Ukraine. According to him, the West has two options, either further escalation of tensions and military support for Ukraine, or present a meaningful peace plan. Fico expects the first option. He declared that he would do everything to prevent the direct participation of Slovak soldiers in the war, even if it cost him the position of prime minister.

Eugene Korda’s explanation:

Robert Fico likes strong gestures and even prefers to spread delusions that would portray him as a fearless hero in the eyes of some citizens of Slovakia. Today he announced that he will participate in the planned meeting of partners from the EU and NATO in France tomorrow. It is said that the content of those negotiations gives him chills. He did not say what it was about, but according to the information of the week, NATO and the EU are not going to declare war on Russia, they are not going to send a single soldier there, and certainly not a Slovak one. To spice up the news, he called a security council for the morning before his departure. It is not clear what they will discuss. The public can thus “look forward” to what he will say after the meeting. It will definitely be something along the lines of “just over my dead body”! In the end, however, he will return home safe and sound from Paris, and we may finally learn what was actually discussed there. Regardless of the actual content of the negotiations, the Prime Minister, with his sword drawn, will announce two fundamental things: that he has managed to avoid the worst and that he has not even lost his position. This will be the result of Fico’s whole circus and maybe he will gain a few voters.
