Heavy Rain and Freezing Temperatures Expected to Continue in Guangdong

According to the China Weather Network, the rainy weather in Guangdong is set to continue over the weekend with the lowest temperature in the northern region plummeting to around 5°C. The public is advised to pay attention to keeping warm and bringing rain gear when going out.

Yesterday, many areas of Guangdong experienced a significant drop in temperature, particularly in coastal cities where the mercury fell by 6 to 12°C compared to the previous day. This cooling trend is expected to persist over the next two days, with high-altitude mountainous areas potentially experiencing freezing conditions.

The Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Observatory has issued a forecast for light rain in the northern parts of the province, with a chance of freezing rain or freezing in some high-altitude mountainous areas. Other cities and counties are expected to see cloudy skies with scattered light rain.

In Guangzhou, the temperature is forecasted to range between 8 and 11°C with light to moderate north winds. Shenzhen will also experience cold weather with temperatures ranging from 8 to 13°C and gusty winds in coastal areas.

The meteorological department has advised the public to be cautious of slippery roads and potential traffic accidents due to the inclement weather. With temperatures remaining low, it is crucial to take precautions to prevent cold-related illnesses and stay warm.

For the latest weather updates, residents are encouraged to check the “China Weather Network” official accounts on WeChat, Weibo, and Douyin.
