The regional council appoints Uberti as commissioner for the Valle d’Aosta Local Health Authority

by admin

He will lead the Valdostan health company pending the procedure to appoint the new general manager

The Aosta Valley Local Health Authority is again led by a commissioner. The regional government today appointed Massimo Uberti to fill the post vacated by Angelo Michele Pescarmona, who moved to Turin.

Thus the regional health councilor: “I believe that this high-profile appointment, albeit of a temporary duration, represents an important opportunity for the Usl Company of the Aosta Valley which, in this phase of epidemiological emergency still in place, is called to operate on several fronts and reorganize services almost daily to respond to citizens’ assistance needs. This period – adds the commissioner Barmasse – requires a complete strategic direction and highly experienced professionalism. Aosta Valley health care must regain an image of quality and excellence and to achieve this goal we must, with the collaboration of all the professionals who work there, reform the system to overcome the organizational, structural and shortage of health personnel ».

Massimo Uberti has a degree in medicine and surgery specializing in medical and epidemiological statistics at the University of Pavia. It will enter service on August 16.

In the past Uberti has managed some Piedmontese health agencies. On May 31st he finished his role as general manager of ASL Torino5. The former director (and former commissioner) of the Aosta Valley Local Health Authority Pescarmona arrived from Aosta in his place.

Pescarmona remained commissioner of the Valle d’Aosta healthcare company for three years before being “stabilized” as general manager and then leaving his post six months later. For Uberti, the assignment should last much shorter. Also today, the regional council approved the public notice that will make it possible to update the list of candidates for the appointment of general manager. “At the end of this procedure – established in 150 days – it will be possible to proceed with the appointment of a new general manager of the USL of Valle d’Aosta selected among the suitable ones who will be included in the aforementioned roster”, explains the regional health department .
