A surge in the last week of the Riccardi vaccination appointments: “A mix of demonstration of responsibility and the Green pass effect”

UDINE. Let’s call it the Green pass effect or simply the desire not to be cut off, starting from 6 August, from relevant sections of social life, but the fact remains that the vaccination campaign, both in Italy and in Friuli Venezia Giulia, has undergone a clear acceleration from the announcement of Mario Draghi on Thursday evening. A first sprint, in fact, had already been registered in the days before the Council of Ministers, when the news about the intention to expand the use of the Green pass began to spread, but it is over the weekend – and moreover the data are still missing. of yesterday – which literally changed gear. With good news and that is the fact that, after an initial hesitation, we are noticing a marked growth in the bookings of the youngest with those of the under 30 who, in particular, last week represented almost half of the total.

From Monday to 6 pm on Saturday, going into the details of the numbers, in Friuli Venezia Giulia there was a real peak of bookings and analyzing the data it emerges that of the 28,000 622 new subscribers, 11,000 830 belong to the range of age under 30. “A demonstration of responsibility and practical sense that does honor to the younger generations who immediately understood how vaccination is the real solution to regain our freedom and a normal life as soon as possible” commented Health Councilor Riccardo Riccardi. «The situation in Friuli Venezia Giulia does not arouse alarm having at the moment a positivity rate below 1% – continues the vice president -, strongly rising in other areas of the country. I believe that the decision these days to book vaccinations for many young people stems from the awareness that it is a tool that will allow them to be practicable in all areas of their life: from profession to mobility, up to leisure time ».

Analyzing the last six days of bookings, the age group that holds the primacy of requests is that of teenagers with a total of 6,000 233 appointments, followed by the 20-20 age group with 5,000 597 and that of 30-year-olds with 5,000 178. Since the extended use of the Green pass was announced, more than 16 thousand new bookings have been registered overall. In general, the trend of adhesions has undergone an exponential increase. Since July 5, when 2 thousand 559 bookings were registered, the start of the month has always stood at an average that almost never exceeded 2 thousand units per day, while the upward trend was recorded in the third week , increasing from 19 July with requests over 3,000 per day to exceed 4,000 in the last week. Thanks to this acceleration, therefore, the total of those who have joined the vaccination campaign in Friuli Venezia Giulia has reached 63.03% of the residents which rises to 69.23% of those who are potentially vaccinable – i.e. those over 12 – in the our region.

Yesterday, going further, 51.3% of the population had completed the vaccination cycle, with 8.9% still waiting for the recall and overall, in summary, 60.2% of the citizens of Friuli Venezia Giulia who received at least the first administration. As for the age groups, however, 93% of 90-year-olds obtained at least one dose with a percentage that drops to 83% among 70-year-olds, falls to 76% among 60-year-olds and reaches 56% among those included in the age group 12-39 years.
