China News Service, Nanning, January 22 (Reporter Lin Hao) Nanning Customs announced on the 22nd that in 2021, Guangxi will coordinate the prevention and control of the port epidemic and promote the steady growth of foreign trade. The import and export achieved rapid growth, and the quality steadily improved.
According to customs statistics, in 2021, Guangxi’s foreign trade scale will hit a new record high, with imports and exports of 593.06 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), an increase of 21.8% over 2020. Among the major trading partners, Guangxi’s foreign trade has a significant growth in emerging markets. In 2021, Guangxi’s imports and exports to other RCEP member countries will be 320.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.9%, accounting for 54.1%. Among them, the import and export to ASEAN was 282.12 billion yuan, an increase of 18.8%. During the same period, the growth rate for Latin America and Africa was 50.4% and 32.1% respectively.
In 2021, general trade and border trade will remain the top two trade modes in Guangxi. Bonded logistics and processing trade will grow rapidly, with imports and exports of 142 billion yuan and 114 billion yuan, up 44.8% and 21.5% respectively.
Among the cities, 14 cities in Guangxi achieved positive growth in foreign trade. Chongzuo, Nanning and Fangchenggang ranked the top three in terms of foreign trade import and export value, with imports and exports of 212.71 billion, 123.19 billion and 88.56 billion respectively. During the same period, Liuzhou City achieved the fastest import and export growth rate in Guangxi with a good industrial foundation, an increase of 52.3%.
In 2021, Guangxi’s high-tech product exports will be 88.65 billion yuan, an increase of 34.8%, driving Guangxi’s foreign trade exports to increase by 8.5 percentage points.
Among the main export products, with the continuous development of Guangxi’s traditional advantageous industries, industrial advantages have gradually transformed into export advantages. In 2021, Guangxi will export 7.69 billion yuan of automobiles, an increase of 189.6%; and 4.66 billion yuan of auto parts and accessories, an increase of 34.7%. At the same time, special products such as tea and Chinese herbal medicines actively explored the international market, and the export value increased by 64% and 52.7% respectively.
The system innovation dividends of high-level open platforms such as Guangxi Comprehensive Bonded Zone and Pilot Free Trade Zone have continued to expand, with obvious results. In addition, Guangxi has actively integrated into the new development pattern, accelerated the construction of the Beibu Gulf international gateway port, and jointly built a new western land-sea channel at a high level. In 2021, the import and export of 6 cities in the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone will be 483.96 billion yuan, driving Guangxi’s foreign trade import and export to increase by 16 percentage points during the same period, becoming an important engine for the steady growth of Guangxi’s foreign trade.
Looking forward to 2022, Guangxi’s foreign trade development will face more uncertain, unstable and unbalanced factors.
